Dusty Bullfinch, Halter Quarter Horse Stallion. He is in many ways an upgrade to Big Sparkle, depending on how you view Big Sparkle of course. They are in the same pose, same breed and type within breed.

A bit later, I was not feeling satisfied with the sculpt, and I realized the first version had a very juvenile look, which is technically fine, but not what I wanted. I decided to make a Dusty B V2. I gave him more volume, longer body, stronger neck and larger muzzle, along with a turned head for a more dynamic expression.

BUT - then something new started to bother me, when I looked more and more at the printed version and compared him to my other QH sculpts, I realized the head and neck of Version 2 was too small and short, it looked off. So then I went again, backtracked my workfile in Nomad Sculpt and made a Dusty B V3. He got a larger head and a slightly reshaped and longer neck. Also I gave more volume to the tail, and I had to remake the mane and forelock again. I finally felt like he was looking the way I wanted, and I took some time to give the V3 demo print a bit more of an experimental and elaborate paintjob.

He was a joy to sculpt allaround, and for me, yet another study of the wild muscles often seen in the halter QHs. Dusty was completed in February 2026, March for V2 and V3.
